1196 Circulating extracellular vesicles of patients with melanoma differ in concentration and composition compared to healthy controls

Melanoma is the most aggressive skin cancer and responsible for majority of deaths. Despite advances in treatment, our current prognostic indicators are poor fail to adequately risk-stratify patients. This study evaluates concentration, size, proteomic metabolomic profile circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) isolated from plasma patients with melanoma, identify potential biomarkers disease progression. clinical cohort =study recruited n=36 melanoma n=13 healthy controls EVs their using a clinically applicable technique - Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC). were then characterized according Minimal Information Studies Extracellular Vesicles guidelines (2018). Nanoparticle Tracking analysis demonstrated an increase concentration comparison (p=0.002), though no significant difference between those primary metastatic melanoma. No was detected modal size or protein groups. Proteomic profiling robustly identified over 300 proteins within 88 metabolites, variations profiles disease, compared controls. work further supports role as diagnostic gives insight into targets study.
